In 2017 the Bentley Continental GT3 won the prestigious Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup with Bentley Motorsport while Team Parker Racing reigned supreme in the British GT Championship. With the all-new Continental GT now in showrooms, it can be revealed that the new model is being prepared to defend its title in the grandest of motorsport series. In addition, the new GT3 car will compete for Bentley Motorsport in the four-round Intercontinental GT Challenge.
The opening round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup will be hosted at Monza where the new Continental GT3 will make its competitive debut, with customer sales beginning in June 2018.
With a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine powering the lightweight aluminium body the new racing car develops over 550BHP, while tipping the scales at less than 1300kg. The svelte road-car’s shape lends itself to better aerodynamic packaging for the track, while superior suspension and brakes have been tailor-made for the Conti GT3.
Brian Gush, Bentley’s Director of Motorsport, said, “The new Continental GT has proved to be a great starting point for the development of a new racer, and the engineering development work is true to Bentley’s impeccable standards.”
Following on from 2017’s success, Bentley will be hoping its all new racer will continue to be the best in its class.
